Unlike living beings from the human world, a digimon never completely dies and they always reincarnate in the form of digieggs which returns to the primary village unless somebody decides to keep it before it departs or destroys it, which is the only effective way of destroying a digimon given that the digiegg contains the unprotected digicore and its destruction means the final death of a digimon.
Deleted digimon do no lose DP and can be raised back once the egg hatches. There are some rules that should be taken into consideration when dealing with digimon death:
1- Digieggs can be destroyed, effectively ending the existence of the digimon. It is of utmost importance for the friends and human partners of the deceased digimon to protect the digiegg until it hatches.
2- A reincarnated digimon usually loses most of the memories of their past lives and as much, keeps the feelings they had for the people they previously meet. It's up to the members to decide how much of the memories and personality of the newborn digimon are kept from its previous life, they can be completely new digimon or remember everything.
3- The only time a member can request to change the evolution line of a digimon is when it dies and reverts to a digiegg. Digimon often change their forms when they reincarnate and the member is free to decide if keeps the old evolution line or change it. It you decide to change it, request a staff member to open the locked profile to edit it.
4- As it was mentioned before, no DP is lost when the digimon dies, so don't be afraid of letting your digimon die, they can return stronger and better and it can help to add some emotional twists to their stories
5- Destroying the digiegg is pretty much most horrible crime in the digital world you can commit. Do so if you wish to revert into a complete monster, to cross a moral event horizon, or if you REALLY have no other choice. Remember that your digimon most probably WILL refuse to do it, so you might as well do it yourself.
